New National Hurricane Center director joins availability

During one of the most active Atlantic hurricane seasons in recent years, three simultaneous hurricanes were captured by the Suomi-NPP satellite on September 8, 2017. The new director of NOAA’s National Hurricane Center, Ken Graham, will be among the federal hurricane experts available for media interviews at the 32nd annual Governor’s Hurricane Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, May 16 and 17.

Hurricane specialists from the center, part of the National Weather Service, will join experts from state and local agencies, emergency managers, first responders and others for training courses, workshops and panel discussions on tropical cyclones and storm mitigation.
