Did you know that in fiscal year 2017, NOAA's education programs reached more than 2.5 million youth and adults? Or that over 4,400 postsecondary students received training in NOAA-related fields? It's true. You can read about these efforts and many more in the 2017 NOAA Education Accomplishments Report.
"We accomplished a tremendous amount in 2017. I am pleased to share the work that NOAA educators are doing to advance NOAA's mission through education," said Louisa Koch, Director of NOAA Education. NOAA educates on topics that span from the surface of the sun to the depths of the ocean floor. Through a diverse portfolio of programs, NOAA trains educators, prepares the next generation of experts in Earth science, and works to inspire people of all ages to continue learning about the ocean and atmosphere.
The highlights in this report were submitted by members of the NOAA Education Council. The report describes progress toward the goals in the NOAA Education Strategic Plan.
