Emergency information for NOAA employees

NOAA Emergency Notification System

The NOAA Emergency Notification System (ENS) tool allows NOAA to quickly broadcast emergency information to and take accountability of affected employees via phone, email, or text. ENS is NOAA's primary means of accountability on an organizational level. IN the event of a local, regional or national emergency, a message will be broadcast to the mobile number you provide in your NOAA Staff Directory listing. If in receipt of an ENS message, NOAA employees must reply as soon as possible to indicate their current status and then make contact with their local supervisor.  If you are encounter an emergency situation and have not received an ENS message or you are within a Mandatory Evacuation Zone, use the Web Check-in and/or the Toll-free Call-in Number resources noted below to make contact.  In addition to these reporting tools, there are additional resources available to provide assistance and promote understanding of the tools and processes during an incident.

Emergency Check-In Information

Web Check-In
During a local, regional, or national incident, NOAA employees and contractors are encouraged to use the NOAA Emergency Check-in Google form offsite link to indicate status, location, ability to report to work, and other information as appropriate.  Note: this web-based check-in system offsite link should only be used by NOAA Employees or Contractors and is only monitored during active incidents.

Toll-Free Call-In Number - 1-888-NOAA-911 or 1-888-662-2911
If you are directed or forced to evacuate your current location to an alternate site, please contact the NOAA Homeland Security Program Office (HSPO) as soon as possible to advise of your safety and provide a means of contacting you. This easy to remember toll-free number 1-888-NOAA-911 (or 1-888-662-2911) can also be used by employees, contractors, their families, and/or friends to report the whereabouts of another NOAA employee or contractor.
