Description
Sulfur (yellow) is associated with many of the vent sites at Mussel Ridge. These occurrences tell us that large amounts of sulfur gases are dissolved inthe vent fluids. The small terrace in the foreground suggests that the sulfurwas molten (at least 119 C) before it solidified after contact with the coldseawater.
