Description
Horned pondweed - Zannichellia palustrus - growth usually peaks in June andbegins covering the beaches. Submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) provides food and habitat for a wide variety of biota, but has been in serious decline forthe last several decades. (Image credit: Mary Hollinger)
