Description
This image shows the North American snow cover on April 30, 2010. This was thelowest snow cover ever recorded for any April. A rapid melt occurred duringMarch and April quickly erasing the record snowfalls of December throughFebruary. Sea ice extent, which was close to average in March, quickly declinedin April and May and was trending towards dipping below the 2007 record low.
