Description
When the World Prodigy tanker grounded on June 23, 1989 over 290,000gallons of oil spread across more than 120 miles of Narragansett Bay and RhodeIsland Sound. To compensate for injuries, NOAA and the University of RhodeIsland Sea Grant Program teamed up to install six cobblestone reefs to providehabitat for lobsters and improve the Bay's fishery.
