Description
The LOIS G., built in 1957, is a 57 gross ton, 72-foot wooden snapper vessel ofthe type used in the 1960's fishery. These vessels had ample storage space forice for long periods at sea. It was not uncommon for them to stay 20 dayscatching up to 30 thousand pounds or more of mixed species of snappers andgroupers. (Image credit: NOAA Central Library Historical Fisheries Collection)
