Description
A magnificent headland at Point Lobos as seen through Monterey Cypress,Cupressus macrocarpa. The orange algae growing on the trees isTrentepohlia aurea v. polycarpa, a green alga which is rich in betacarotene. This algae is non-parasitic and generally grows on the side closestto salt spray.
