Derek Campbell has worked as an Attorney-Advisor in the International Section of the Office of General Counsel since 2007. Derek’s portfolio includes international trade agreements; U.S. natural resource laws with trade provisions; international fisheries agreements; regional fisheries management organizations; and illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing. Prior to joining NOAA, Derek clerked at the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic at Vermont Law School, interned at NOAA and the Conservation Law Foundation, worked as an environmental educator for the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment, and worked as a publicist for Miramax Films. Derek received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, and Master of Studies in Environmental Law, magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School, and his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and political science from the University of Wisconsin — Madison.
