NOAA issues annual seafood landing and value report

NOAA will announce on Thursday, Oct. 29, the results of the new edition of NOAA Fisheries’ annual report, Fisheries of the United States 2014. Seafood is big business in this country — commercial and recreation fishing is a large part of the U.S. economy, generating billions of dollars while keeping coastal communities economically resilient.

Seafood landings and values remain high--both the volume and value continue to remain higher than the average for the past five years.

The report, along with past years’ editions, will be available online Thursday, Oct. 29 athttp://www.st.nmfs.noaa.gov/commercial-fisheries/fus/fus14/index.
