Coast and Geodetic Survey assistant William Eimbeck on left and Ervin Vinal onthe right. If the calendar is correct, this was taken in December 1902 in theCoast and Geodetic Survey offices in Washington, D. C. Eimbeck hadcompleted his great life work by this time, having conducted the 39th Paralleltriangulation from the Sierra Nevada to Colorado's Front Range.
