By coincidence, Juneau Alaska was hit by 200 inches of snow during NOAA's200th Anniversary Year. Employees of the Juneau National Weather ServiceForecast Office stand in front of Mendenhall Glacier, near Juneau. That winterthey helped save lives and property when forecasting avalanches, 50-foot waves,and 100 mph winds.
