Coast and Geodetic Survey Ship DISCOVERER with a number of sensors attached tobow during BOMEX, the Barbados Oceanographic and Meteorological Experiment. The tethered balloon is carrying upper-air meteorological sensors, the boom projecting from the bow has meteorological instruments, and the line leading downhas sea-temperature sensors attached.
