Roi were introduced to Oahu in 1956 from the Society Islands. It seems like thepopulation of roi are on the rise similar to how the taape had their populationboom decades ago. Perhaps it is now the roi population's turn to expand untilit finds a sustainable level at which time its population be in synch with whatthe nearshore environment can handle.
