The result of changes of water temperature on fisheries is significant. Aswater temperatures rise and nutrient levels decline, shoals of cold-water-loving small pelagics scatter and descend to depths of 150 to 200 meters, where theyare not accessible to traditional surface purse seiners, or they migrate south.
