Middle section of survey line run by Lt. Joseph Dayman on HMS CYCLOPSduring telegraph cable survey of 1857. The work of Berryman and Dayman betweenin 1856 and 1857 respectively marked a new era in ocean exploration, thebeginning of systematic surveys, in this case to determine a telegraphcable route.
