Description

Depth of ocean where the TITANIC went down. After finding the TITANIC in 1985,the actual depth was found to be around 2100 fathoms. The 2760 fathom depthcame from a hemp rope and weight sounding that pre-dated the CHALLENGERExpedition. In: Marshall, Logan 1912. The Sinking of theTITANIC and Other Great Sea Disasters.
