Screen capture of isochrons of Atlantic Ocean Seafloor. The newest seafloorfollows the Mid-Atlantic Ridge while the seafloor becomes increasingly older asit is rafted out from the vicinity of the ridge. This age dating wasaccomplished by magnetic mapping and deep sea drilling studies.
