On board a BCF research vessel, fishery biologists are measuring fish and taking blood samples for stock analysis. Each species of fish or shellfish iscomposed of stocks or subpopulations, which may differ slightly in structure,physiology, or rate of growth. Information on stocks enables biologists todetermine the sustainable yield of each stock.
