Description

Chinook salmon (Onchorhynchus tshawytscha) . The chinook salmon spendsmost of its life in the ocean, but comes into fresh waters to spawn and die.While there is a run every year, the life span of each generation is about fouryears. Although the average weight is much less, these fish may attain a weight of over 50 pounds. Specimen from Columbia River.
