Tree roots exposed because of erosion on the north end of Sapelo's beach

Description

Tree roots exposed because of erosion on the north end of Sapelo's beach. Typical of barrier islands, sand from the north end of Sapelo and Blackbeard iseroded away by ocean currents and deposited at the south end where sand dunescontinue to build. The erosion leaves behind trees that were once protected bydunes exposed to the ocean.
