The Mendocino Escarpment as compiled by Harold Murray of the Coast andGeodetic Survey and reproduced in the Bulletin of the Association ofField Engineers in 1938. This is the first hint at the nature of what laterwere termed fracture zones by H.W. Menard in the 1950's.
