Rear Admiral Freddie Jeffries, NOAA Corps, and Commander Evelyn Fields.Admiral Jeffries was the first African-American NOAA Corps officer and also thefirst to attain the rank of Rear Admiral (LH) in NOAA Corps. Commander Fields is the present Director of NOAA Corps and is the first woman officer to attain the the rank of Rear Admiral (UH) in NOAA Corps.
