At a St. Petersburg school, student volunteers mix beach sand, peat moss, andvermiculite to plant nursery plants. Once the plants are established, TampaBaywatch staff visit regularly and the students monitor the health of theplants once a week and measure salinity and PH in the ponds. This nursery wasbuilt on Feb. 24, 1998, donor plants taken on the 25th and planted on the 26th.
