Description
Figure 45. Rung bathometer, designed by Captain George Rung of the DanishMeteorological Institute. It was a new type of pneumatic sounding device basedon the principle advanced by the physician Kristian Prytz, also a Dane. It wasconsidered an advancement on the Thompson tube. Depending on modifications, it could be used from 0 to 200 meters, or from two to three times deeper.
