The NOAA Ship THOMAS JEFFERSON surveying approaches to harbors andthe interior of harbors for obstructions. NOAA also sent hydrographic fieldparties to the stricken area and had resurveyed and cleared harbors in the areafor ship traffic within three weeks of Hurricane Katrina.
