Smile ... you're on underwater camera!
Cameras help NOAA Fisheries Service scientists sample marine life — like this salmon shark — without harming animals and are being developed to provide exact measurements of fish size. This set of slow-motion underwater images reveals a salmon shark passing through a survey net equipped with CamTrawl, a technology developed at NOAA's Alaska Fisheries Science Center that enables visual, computer-aided study of marine animals.
