2022 SOST Opportunities and Actions Roundtable Submissions
Summary: Ocean-based resources represent a unique and valuable collection of sustainable inputs which can be used to develop low carbon energy production systems. The opportunity to realize synergies among offshore wind power generation, desalination, green hydrogen production, and offshore carbon sequestration makes ocean energy ecosystems a compelling way to accelerate the transition to a low carbon future. Meanwhile, the associated electricity transmission infrastructure that will link all of these activities is also a contribution to improved grid stability and resiliency for the entire Nation.
