Summary
California American Water is proposing to construct up to ten subsurface slant wells and a desalination plant to produce approximately 9.6 MGD of desalinated water. The slant wells will be located in coastal dunes west of Marina, CA and extend beneath the sea floor of MBNMS. Brine will be discharged through an existing outfall used by the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency.
