NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, a division of the National Weather Service, will host a media teleconference to announce the U.S. temperature and precipitation outlook for winter, extending from December 2020 through February 2021. NOAA forecasters also will discuss current drought conditions across the U.S. and announce the seasonal Drought Outlook for the months ahead.
NOAA produces seasonal outlooks to help the nation prepare for weather and climate that is likely to come during the next few months, to minimize negative impacts on lives and livelihoods. Empowering people with the information they need to take action to protect themselves is key to NOAA’s effort to build a Weather-Ready Nation.
