Tide predictions play an important role in coastal communities across the Untied States. They allow both commercial and recreational boaters who work, live and recreate along our coasts, to safely navigate through high and low tides each and every day. Furthermore, tourist publications, coastal newspapers, and fishing guides all contain tide and current predictions that originate from NOAA’s data.
