AGO Deputy Director

Ms. Mabe is the Deputy Director of the Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Mabe joined NOAA in 2007 and served in various leadership roles prior to her current position that began in 2018. Ms. Mabe was the Contracting Officer for the Ground System (GS) of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite - R Series (GOES-R) geosynchronous environmental satellites. Her leadership experience in NOAA includes serving as the Deputy Director of the National Capital Acquisition Division; Director of the Strategic Sourcing Acquisition Division; and subsequently the Director of the Satellite and Information Acquisition Division.

Ms. Mabe entered the federal acquisition workforce in 1997 as a Contract Specialist in the Department of the Navy (DON) Acquisition Intern Program. Through the DON Intern program, Ms. Mabe became a warranted senior contract specialist for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). In 2001, Ms. Mabe received the DON Competition and Procurement Excellence Award, recognizing her outstanding contribution to the promotion of competition and innovative procurement.

In 2003, Ms. Mabe joined the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and served as a Contracting Officer for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense major weapons system. She ultimately became the Division Director of the Technology, Tests and Targets Contracting Directorate. During her tenure, the division was the recipient of the MDA Business Administration Team Award, the divisions’ high achievement for acquisition excellence.

Ms. Mabe graduated from Georgian Court University in 1997 with a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Mathematics. She received a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University in 2002. Ms. Mabe completed the Federal Executive Institute’s “Leadership for Democratic Society” program in 2015, and holds a Level III Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting. She is a member of the federal Senior Executive Service and National Contract Management Association. Ms. Mabe originates from and currently resides in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area.
