Inflation Reduction Act: Climate Data and Services

A Climate-Ready Nation is a thriving nation whose prosperity, health, security, and continued growth, benefit from and depend upon, a shared understanding of, and collective action to reduce, the impacts of climate change.

NOAA’s investments will improve delivery of climate data and services to American industries and build partnerships with the private sector. This initiative will advance research, observations, modeling, prediction, information dissemination, and service delivery for disasters such as wildfires, drought, floods, and heat. Funds will improve NOAA’s ability to provide critical climate and weather data, services, and information by improving storm tracking, models and data assimilation, bolstering successful existing place-based and regional programs, and expanding weather, climate, and other support services in the Arctic region – a place that is changing more rapidly than the lower 48 states as a result of climate change.
