NOAA participates in the CTI program in collaboration with the Partnership for Public Service. Individuals who are pursuing a relevant degree are eligible for a two-year federal appointment. The Partnership for Public Service provides mentoring and leadership development opportunities.
Students who are pursuing cybersecurity related undergraduate or graduate degrees are ideal for this program. Completion of their degree prior to the start date is required for this program.
Requirements for eligibility
- U.S. citizenship at the time of application submission
- Currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution in an undergraduate or graduate cybersecurity-related degree program or a recent graduate with a graduation date within the eligible time frame each year
- Superior academic achievement
- Completion of cybersecurity-related major degree (for example, computer science, engineering, information science and mathematics) prior to federal agency start date

Pathways Internship:
- Current students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or certificate in a relevant degree program are eligible
- Participants may work either part- or full- time paid internships at NOAA while in school
- Upon completion of degree or certificate, may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to full time federal employment

Pathways Recent Graduates Program:
- One-year developmental position to promote federal career development through training and mentorship
- Must be within 2 years of having completed a qualifying degree or certificate (or 6 years for veterans if active duty prevented them from applying in the two year window)
- Upon completion of the program, may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to full time federal employment

- Completion of a cybersecurity-related degree prior to start date is required
